Be kind!
Around one in four Australian school children are bullied and one in five are cyber bullied each year. The only way these staggering numbers will fall is if every individual makes a change.
Being kind is something we can all do to help reduce the numbers of children bullied and cyber bullied each year. Although we can (and should!) be kind every day, Do it for Dolly Day is an opportunity to remind students, parents, teachers and your community that a little kindness goes a long way.
Looking for ways you can spread kindness? Why not try:
- Thinking carefully before you speak, and trying not to say things that would hurt your feelings if they were said to you?
- Writing a thank you note to someone you are grateful for?
- Telling your friends and family something you like about them?
- Speaking up when you see others not being kind.
There are lots of ways we can be kind to each other – how will you be kind on May 14, 2021?
