What is a Colour Explosion Fun Run?
The Brightest Day at School!
Give students the brightest day at school with a Colour Explosion School Fun Run! Fill the air with colour and laughter as participants run, skip and jump through your Colour Explosion Buddy Run.
With volunteers set up at stations across the track, participants are drenched in vibrant, non-toxic Holi Colour Powder. Don’t forget to go off with a bang, hosting your own Colour Explosion Dance Finale!

How It Works
The Easiest Way to Fundraise
You have all the fun of a Colour Explosion Fun Run, and use your profits to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children across Australia. At no cost to your school or group, you will fundraise for one of Australia’s leading charities helping to protect Australian children from violence and bullying.
60%* of the funds raised will be donated to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. The remaining 40% covers the costs of your fundraiser.
1. Register Your School or Group
Once you have decided to host an Alannah & Madeline Foundation Colour Explosion Buddy Run at your school, simply jump online and register! Australian Fundraising will send you everything you need upfront, so you can start fundraising right away!
Plus, with most of your fundraising campaign run 100% online, you can organise your fundraiser from anywhere at any time, without the hassle of paperwork!
2. Let the fundraising begin
Use our incredible online platform to start fundraising for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. Students can choose their prize goal, collect virtual coins, and share their page with family and friends far and wide.
3. Host Your Alannah & Madeline Foundation Colour Explosion Buddy Run!
It’s time to spread colour and kindness, and host your Alannah & Madeline Colour Explosion Buddy Run – it will be the highlight of the school calendar!
Have students run together in pairs, to signify support, unity and partnership within your school. You can pair older students with their younger ‘buddies’ or have classmates run together.
4. Receive Your Prizes
Once you have finalised your fundraising, students can order their incentive prizes! Your fundraised profits are donated directly to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation – they don’t pass through any extra hands!
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation
On 28 April 1996, Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged six and three, were tragically killed alongside their mother and 32 other people at Port Arthur in Tasmania.
One year later, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation was launched in the girls’ honour by their father, Walter Mikac AM and a small group of volunteers. They were driven by the belief that all children and young people should be able to live a happy and safe life, free from violence and trauma.
Today our mission continues through care, prevention and advocacy – from supporting children experiencing family violence to online bullying and fighting for the rights of young people everywhere. After 25 years, our fight continues. The challenges facing children and young people may have changed, but our mission has not.
