COVID-19 Applies Pressure To Charities
Each year, Your Town partners with business across Australia to support their Christmas Giving Appeal. Hundreds of businesses help provide gifts to families and children doing it tough at Christmas time.
Unfortunately, the impacts of COVID-19 have continued to strain the charity at their busiest time – when more families than ever are experiencing hardship.
In addition, many offices and large corporations continuing to work from home. As a result, Your Town’s usual office-based gift giving drives are struggling in 2020.
A Generous Donation
In a unique turn of circumstances, Australian Fundraising had an answer.
Although fundraising has recommenced in recent months, social distancing restrictions meant that School Run 4 Fun programs were dramatically less frequent in 2020.
Because Australian Fundraising renews our incentive prize catalogue each year, dozens of unclaimed toys were sitting unloved in our Brisbane-based warehouse.
Australian Fundraising was delighted by our unique position to help. We leapt at the chance to donate more than 850 toys and gifts for children aged newborn to 12 years old.

With the Kids Helpline 30th Anniversary being celebrated in 2021, a donation like this reminded the team that they are not working alone. Instead, the charity is supported by hundreds of businesses across Australia, just like Australian Fundraising.
