School fundraising will never be made possible without the teachers' active participation. Like students, they need to be passionate about the roles they play for fundraising to be successful. In fact, teachers, along with parents are considered the front liners of a school fundraising campaign. With plenty of responsiblities on their plate, spearheading a fundraising program may take a backseat. When teachers don't project compassion towards fundraising, students will also feel the same. Teachers should lead by example and demonstrate genuine interest in the campaign for results to be evident. 

Get Teachers To Actively Participate In Fundraising

Provide Ample Fundraising Materials 

The most frustrating part of starting a fundraising program is having a limited access to the essentail fundraising materials. It can be due to a numbef or reasons: lack of coordination from other officers, tight budget etc. Regardless of the reasons, you need to make a conscious effort to provide materials that your teachers need. 

Reward their hard work

Rewarding teachers need not be monetary. You just need to let them know that you highly appreciate their efforts. There are many ways you can give rewards to teachers to keep them motivated in getting students to join the fundraising campaign.  

Determine their strengths

The teachers can be budding fundraisers, waiting for the perfect timing. For you to raise motivated and happy fundraisers out of teachers, you need to recognize their strengths. Find out what they love doing. If fundraising becomes an obligation and they are not passionate about helping others, getting students to take the lead from teachers may be impossible. Once you determine the teacher's strength, you need to motivate them to bring out these strengths. 

Be sensitive of their needs

Make teachers feel they are part of the project and not just a tool you utilize to make your fundraising program possible. You should also be very sensitive of their needs and you will only know this if you are open to suggestions. Ask for feedback from them and allow them to voice out their opinions regarding your organization.

Make sure they know their role in your organization

Teachers are going to lead students, but being completely unaware of the role they play will make them defeat their own purpose. Make sure they don't assume vague roles. Their responsibility must be explained thoroughly so they can determine if they have fulfilled their roles. If there is part of the role that seems unclear to them, you should encourage them to speak up so you can explain how they should fulfill the role. 

Thank them for their efforts

Leading a group of students is not easy as there are other responsibilities that teachers juggle. Without them, school fundraising will less likely be possible as they work hand in hand with parents and students. At the end of the day, they are still the ones students turn to for help and their obligations don't end in school. By thanking them, you show them that you appreciate and recognize their efforts. It's more than enough to lessen the burden. Teachers can be a great asset in your fundraising organization, if you know how to bring out the best in them.
